Windows 10 Search Bar Missing? Here Are Solutions

There are a few reasons why the search field might be missing from your Start menu. Here are some things you can check:

Make sure that the search field is not hidden. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar and select Search. If the Show search box option is unchecked, then check it.
Make sure that you are not in tablet mode. Tablet mode hides the search field by default. To exit tablet mode, press Windows+Ctrl+Enter.
Make sure that the taskbar is not set to hide taskbar buttons. Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings. Under Taskbar items, make sure that the Search option is checked.
Run the Windows Search troubleshooter. This can help to fix problems with the search function. To run the troubleshooter, open Settings and go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Under Find and fix other problems, select Search and Indexing and then click Run the troubleshooter.
If you have tried all of these things and the search field is still missing, then you may need to reset the Windows search index. To do this, open Settings and go to Indexing Options. Under Advanced, click Reset and then click OK.

Once you have reset the Windows search index, the search field should reappear in the Start menu.
